Churros Con Chocolate

Fried Dough: a Photo Essay

Caveat: Breakfast doesn't exist in Spain; at least as I have known it my whole life. Instead of a hearty meal from which one can find the energy to function, at least until lunch time has been usurped by fried dough, a coffee, or a piece of toast, sometimes with jam. You will be hard pressed to find anyone selling a dish like bacon and eggs, let alone a breakfast sandwich. Even icons of American fast-food dining like McDonald's and Burger King cater their menus to that of the native customs. Maybe I miss the burrito bar more and more every day, maybe the food here is also really good. But if the great war heroes of the golden age have taught me anything, it's that complaining about everything is the best way to stay alive, keeps the mind active.

Real World Update!: US has missiles aplenty.

Aside: Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead is a great read, but don't sleep on the screen adaptation that stars Tim Roth (under appreciated), Gary Oldman (Masterful) and Richard Dreyfuss (closet genius)

I miss everybody.
